From a Time Before… presents the works of Chua Soo Khim, Delia Prvački, Bradley Foisset, Hans Chew, Hasan Zolkifly, Iskandar Jalil, and Ng Eng Teng—artists who have shaped the course of Singapore ceramics across generations.Good pottery works stand the test of time. From generation to generation, what keen connoisseurs of the craft appreciate are the marks of a master potter. Through forms, colours, patterns and functions, Singaporean clay artists have devoted themselves to their creative innovation that audiences and collectors have enjoyed the stunning array of ceramics offerings. From A Time Before is a group retrospective showcasing the multifaceted talents of these pioneer artists, who have charted the contemporary history of Singapore ceramics. Ranging from sculptures to tableware these masterpieces serve as fine models greatly revered and emulated by the mover and shakers of the creative scenes. Many of the ceramic pieces are reunited in this exhibition that is designed quasi a mini-museum of national heritage for all to admire and salvage.
